Lorna Wall has travelled extensively throughout outback and
coastal Australia on painting expeditions. Two series of figurative
paintings of Aboriginal people, 'Our Land' and 'Roxanne', were
inspired by these trips. Several exhibitions have resulted from
painting trips to Kakadu and Katherine as well as visits to outback
NSW for the book 'Bourke and Beyond, The Fragile Land', written by
her father Don Wall. The latter was the inspiration behind her outback
paintings and aerial landscapes.

Lorna's work is vibrant and strong. Colour plays as important a role
as line or composition. Her outback aerial landscapes show the
influence of Williams with their bold colour and minimalism.
She appreciates the storytelling ability shown by both Boyd and Olsen,
which is particularly evident in her 'Preserved on Paper' exhibition
series illustrating the extinction of animal species in Australia.

Passionate about environmental issues, Lorna's paintings tell a story
of her love of the Australian landscape, nature and spirituality. She
simply paints what she loves.

Lorna's current work is a culmination of life experiences. It is
constantly evolving, growing and changing. It moves from contemporary
representational to the abstract. Her mediums of choice are gouache on
paper, mixed media and acrylic on canvas.

As a collector, you can be sure you will be acquiring
a piece of Australia, painted by someone who feels
as passionately about the work as you do.
